SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR ALL ARTS, FAIRS & EXHIBITIONS IN BC! – And other Charitable Organizations too!!!
Petition to Reinstate All Charitable Gaming Grants in British Columbia Please help in the quest to have Gaming Grants (Direct Access &/or Affiliation Grants) reinstated to the levels that they were. Non-profit organizations have been hit hard. In fact, for some, funding has been totally eliminated.
An on-line petition has started and we would appreciate it if it could get circulated to everyone you know who supports this quest. The petition is being circulated province wide, to all Associations, their members and supporting parties.
Please follow the link below to review the complete petition and to add your support. Please pass this email on to everyone. Every signature helps! http://www.petitiononl...ion.html
We need to be prepared when the “Budget” is again addressed by the government (March 2, 2010), that we again, do not suffer the same cuts to our funding. With that we ask you to join us by signing the online petition and forwarding it to as many contacts as you can.

This is an informal get together of people who like to do visual art but don't get around to it if they are in their home setting 'where other chores keep distracting them'. (We do not have formal lessons or an instructor)We put on some music and get into our own space and mid morning we have a short coffee break and we pack up at lunch time. At present we have people working in three mediums --- acrylic, pastel and watercolour. We welcome other likeminded people.
"This talk explores the on-going development of the Reach Gallery Museum as a hybrid that is situated in between both an art gallery and museum and that is committed to exploring how aesthetics and history intersect, the investigation of experimental methodologies that expand artistic boundaries, theoretical concepts, artistic mediums, and making provocative links with visual art and material culture." – Scott Marsden
Note: This is of particular interest to artists who might want to show their work at this beautiful new regional space.

Stella Elizabeth Matthews has been a cook in the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi for 30 years. She is brilliant as a cook, and brilliant at creatively padding her salary - with a few pilfered items, some minor overcharging, and a special phone-order duty free business. A newly posted Canadian diplomatic couple Michael and Maya arrive with their baby and, after an initial jolt when she learns that Michael will be staying home as "diplomatic housewife" while Maya goes off to work, everything goes swimmingly for Stella. Michael was a chef in Ottawa and he is longing to learn authentic Indian cooking. Stella agrees to be his "cooking guru". But Stella's cozy domestic set-up implodes when Tannu, an honest nanny, joins the household, and threatens to expose Stella's deceptions.
