Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir

Last updated by lacadmin -- Apr/02/10 (Read: 684 times)

Music of the Nations will move you

On Saturday, May 15 the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir will take to the Christian Life Assembly stage along with the chamber choirs of Langley Fine Arts School and Walnut Grove Secondary School.

Called Music of the Nations, the concert will move beyond the VWMC’s Welsh origins to include music from around the world. It will also support education, arts and culture by raising funds and awareness for Langley’s International Festival, the Langley Arts Council, and Langley Fine Art School’s Project Kenya.

Great music and great causes all in one entertaining package!

The backdrop for the Music of the Nations concert is the influence of music throughout human evolution. As populations have migrated and intermingled there has been a remixing of cultural ideals and the musical modes that express them.

On the Wall

Last updated by lacadmin -- Apr/02/10 (Read: 251 times)

Stay tuned for Arts & Cultural Expressions Magazine. The primier edition will be off the press in March and we've got a really great lineup of perspectives on artistic and cultural activity in the Langleys. One of the feature items will be Bog: Transformation & Memory, a joint exhibition by artists Suzanne Northcott and Doris Auxier and musician Jeff Warren. If you've never explored the Langley Bog - and there's a good chance you haven't, because much this sensitive wetland area is off-limits - you can still get a real feel for the place through the works of three artists whose combined talents add up to an evocative presentation of the cultural, ecological and spiritual values of this protected habitat.
